So Much Info, So Little Time

I'm old enough to remember a time before computers when we got our information from books, magazines, teachers, the library, mentors, friends, and family.
We still get info that way, but years ago the pace was much slower. We had time to reflect and ponder, absorb what we had learned and then decide where and how to apply it. Heck, to decide IF we wanted to apply it. I never felt overwhelmed or buried in info, like I do now.
There is soooooo much information available now. We're absolutely swimming in it, and it would be easy to spend all of our time reading and learning about how to build an art business. But you can't, and I can't. So, how do we get what we need and still have a life?
Begin at the beginning. Take a big step back and before you rush off to do just anything, ANYTHING, to build your art business or market your art, make sure you're as clear as you can be on who and what you are and what you want all this work to amount to. Being clear will help you make appropriate choices and not waste time and money.
Once you get clear, put together a simple plan for now and the next few years. You can always adjust it as you go along, and it will be much easier to say no to tempting pursuits when you realize that the time spent on them won't really help you get what you want.
So today I'm not going to give you lists of resources and info, you've probably got tons of that. What I'm asking you to do is stop and take stock of who and what you are, and where you are, and make some thoughtful choices that will better support what you want to accomplish.
"There's nothing remarkable about it.
All one has to do is hit the right keys at the right time
and the instrument plays itself."
~Johann Sebastian Bach
All my best to you and yours!
P.S. Want a bit of help on the "getting clear" thing? If you haven't already had one, you can request a 15-minute conversation here. It's a great start!

"put together a simple plan for now and the next few years" - simple words making so much sense. Thank you so much for the advice.
