Social media is about building relationships that are the key to good marketing. You can streamline your activities to save time, keep it all organized, and get info on what's working (and what's not).
Many online services are available to help you schedule posts, connect to several social media accounts, and get reports and data. I have researched dozens, and here are a few that I like, starting with free or lower cost services and moving up to more powerful (and more expensive) options*.

HootSuite has free and paid plans. It's a social media dashboard to manage and measure your social networks. A long time favorite, the free plan allows up to five social profiles and includes a basic analytics report, message scheduling and 2 RSS feeds. $9.99/month includes unlimited social profiles, additional user, enhanced analytics, advanced message scheduling, unlimited apps, unlimited RSS Feeds, and Google Analytics integration.
Cyfe has both free and paid plans. $19 gets you premium features. Their all-in-one dashboard app allows you to monitor and analyze data across all your online services including Facebook, Twitter, Google Analytics and even MailChimp, Salesforce or AdSense. Monitor, pull data, get reports and historical data. This is an enterprise-level tool, worth a look but maybe overkill for most artists.
Cloze is free (with offers for premium services). They call themselves "The noise-canceling inbox for email and social." Cloze combines email, social and contacts in a single view. It analyzes your email and social history to learn what is important to you and gives everyone a Cloze Score. Then they use that score to sort your mail and social messages into different lists, organized by importance with key people first. The goal is to show you what's most important first, so you can safely leave the rest for later. Cloze is multiple layer secure with encryption, and they promise to never share your contacts or share or sell your info.
Sendible has low cost plans from $9.99 and up and a rare feature enabling you to manage your Google+ pages. It also supports Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Tumblr and others. You can schedule posts, set up autoresponders (which I don't see on other low priced plans), and get tracking and analytics information.
Sproutsocial has a free 30 day trial, then $39/month and up. It includes their "all-in-one social inbox" that lets you view all your social channels and profiles at once and keep tabs on your conversations. It includes real-time monitoring across multiple social channels, advance publishing features to multiple social networks including Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, social CRM tools including a complete archive of historical conversations, analytics and reports, training and support, free mobile apps. They want you to be able to engage with customers/collectors quickly.
